Plenty of Vroom For The Ford Escape

With a class leading turbocharged engine and a new sleek Sync 3 infotainment system, the 2016 Ford Escape SE is has the competitive advantage in the compact crossover segment.  The 240 horsepower turbocharged 2.0 liter engine, the Escape is one of the fastest cars in its category.  And now with the Sync 3 infotainment system available for the first time on the 2016 model, the Escape is sure to trump the competition in the technology department.

The Escape SE comes equipped with the aforementioned 2.0 liter four cylinder Ecoboost engine and a six speed automatic transmission.  Standard features include automatic halogen headlamps, fog lamps, dual chrome exhaust tips, a SecuriCode invisible keyless entry system, MyKey teen driver settings, a rear view camera, steering wheel audio controls, and an AM/FM/CD/satellite radio head unit with an aux input.

Let’s start with what’s under the hood.  The turbocharged 2.0 liter engine will stand head and shoulders above its competitors.  It will deliver rapid power and fairly decent fuel economy for a vehicle of this size.  The engine will be relatively quiet and run very smoothly.  The Escape’s smooth and quiet engine is also something that will separate it from its competition and making it one of the top performing CUVs on the market.

Moving on to the interior of the vehicle, Ford will offer several options available to add on to your 2016 Escape.  First up is the Equipment Group 201A.  This $1,395 upgrade includes a nine speaker audio system, dual zone climate control, a media hub with dual USB ports, reverse sensing, a perimeter alarm, and a 110-volt power converter outlet.

The SE Chrome Package will cost $1,445.  It will include chrome door handles, roof rails, 19-inch wheels, and various other chrome accents.

SE Cold Weather package will add heated exterior mirrors and seats, a Wiper Park feature, and all-weather floor mats.  This package will raise the price of your Escape $445.

Several car review sites have had high praise for the new Sync 3 system.  They believe it to be a substantial improvement over the MyFord Touch system that the Sync 3 now replaces.  Sync 3's use of large icons makes on-screen information easy to see at a glance, while the system's capacitive touch screen is much more responsive than the MyFord Touch system's resistive technology, and reacts quicker to inputs.

The Escape is already a very popular model in the CUV class of vehicle.  The 2016 Ford Escape will take it next level.  While the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 can offer more room for passengers and a larger cargo area, the Escape will offer a more performance oriented engine with the brand new state of the art Sync 3 infotainment system.
