2016 Ford EcoSport

Since 1942, American pop culture has played home to Mighty Mouse.  Mighty Mouse, an American anthropomorphic superhero mouse, that despite his size could “save the day”.  The idea behind this cartoon mouse was that even the smallest in stature could big contributors to the world.

Ford has done the same with their own version of Mighty Mouse.  Introducing the all new supermini sized crossover, the Ford EcoSport.  Ford has reengineered the previous year’s model making the EcoSport more refined with better handling and a smoother ride.

The new Ecosport comes with retuned steering, suspension that’s been lowered by 10mm and new damper and spring rates. More sound insulation has been added, too. Ford has also gone one step further by developing a sportier version of the EcoSport with the Titanium S.  The Titanium S will come with a firmer suspension and meatier steering.

Under the hood, you will find the engine in the EcoSport to be revvy and rapid.  The new engine can really be felt when you go speeding down a country road.  It has tighter angles and less vertical hop off crests.

Once inside the EcoSport, you will see just how roomy this mini SUV can be.  The interior has been upgraded from 2015 with half leather seats and an all dark interior.  You can fit four tall adults in with reasonable ease and those in the back can even recline in their seats.  The cargo area isn’t enormous, but can definitely handle the tasks of daily life and can be extended courtesy of the split/folding rear seats.

The Titanium S pack is likely to come with a reversing camera as well as an upgraded Sony stereo with DAB and Bluetooth. It will also get a ‘Black Pack’, which includes gloss black alloys, roof and door mirrors, plus no roof rails for a sleeker look. Oh, and the ungainly spare wheel that used to hang off the tailgate has gone, too.

Currently, the EcoSport is not available in the United States.  But Jim Farley, Ford Executive, said the sub compact would eventually be sold in the US and all across the globe.  The popularity of small CUVs in America, combined with some recent testing of a camouflaged EcoSport in Detroit, suggest it could be here much sooner than initially expected.
